I can’t remember a time growing up that I didn’t love to paint, draw and create. It’s strange to look back and think that I never considered art as a career path. I know now that I went to Texas A&M University and received a Business degree to fulfill my mother’s dream rather than my own. After graduation, my husband and I moved to Midland, in West Texas, where I worked as an accountant for an oil company for several years. Read more

Art Talk: National Invitational Finalist artwork on display in Conroe

The artwork by the finalists in the 3rd annual National Invitational art competition sponsored by the Conroe Art League (CAL) was installed at the Gallery at the Madeley Building, 127 Simonton Street, Conroe late last week and will be on display for visitors attending Conroe’s March 5-8 Rising Stars and Legends event. Art Talk: Art by finalists of 2019 CAL National Invitational now on display

The 71 pieces of two-and-three-dimensional artwork selected as finalists in the 4th Annual National Invitational art competition organized by the Conroe Art League (CAL), were installed last week at the Gallery at the Madeley Building, 127 Simonton Street, Conroe. This exhibit of artwork by artists from Texas and 16 other US states, will be on display throughout the month of March. Read more

Artists Collaborate Toward A New Glassell School

When the new Glassell School of Art opens, anyone will be able to enjoy it—by taking a class, watching a performance from the rooftop, or just strolling the new plaza. In that same spirit of participation, the Museum asked Glassell School artists to create a work of art for the temporary wall at the edge of the construction site.
